Panjab University Strengthens Global Research Ties at International S&T Conference
Panjab University Vice Chancellor and PI-RAHI (Panjab University–IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations) Chairperson Prof Renu Vig, along with senior officials, participated in the 1st International Science and Technology Clusters Conference “Making Lives Easier Through S&T” at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. At the two-day international conference, PI-RAHI signed MoUs with HL Klemove and INC Innovation Centre Germany to collaborate on joint research, mobility programmes and technology transfer. PU Scientists Develop Patented Enzyme System to Convert Toxic Malathion into Safe Compounds
Panjab University has been granted a patent for a smart and safe technology to break down the harmful pesticide malathion into non‑toxic compounds, helping reduce hazardous residues in soil, crops and water bodies. PU scientists have developed an innovative immobilised fungal enzyme system that converts malathion into harmless metabolites, offering an eco‑friendly alternative to conventional chemical clean‑up methods. Panjab University has launched its AICTE IDEA Lab at PI-RAHI, South Campus. UT Education Secretary Prerna Puri and PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig inaugurated the Lab, which is set up for prototyping, product work and cross-disciplinary research.
