Panjab University, Chandigarh has signed a MoU with Intel India in the event organized by Intel India at New Delhi on 8th May 2024. The event was presided over by Sh. Sanjay K Murthy, IAS, Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Panjab University has been granted approval by Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India to conduct M. Sc. program in Nuclear Medicine with Fortis hospital, Mohali, as clinical collaborative partner. Centre for Nuclear Medicine established in the year 2007, at Panjab University, was conducting the said program in collaboration with PGIMER, which discontinued as PGIMER started its own course. In a groundbreaking development in the realms of healthcare and forensic science, a pioneering patent has been granted for a novel peptide and its conjugate designed to detect Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) which is a protein produced by prostate gland in males. PSA is used for early diagnosis of prostate cancer in the healthcare system and semen detection in sexual assault cases. The novel peptide specific to PSA is used as a biorecognition element in order to fabricate the biosensor for the detection of PSA. NSS Panjab University organized the Marathon on the theme world health day & Say no to drugs in the morning on 19th april 2024 at Gandhi Bhawan Panjab University Chandigarh. The marathon was organised under the leadership of Dr.Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, NSS alongwith Dr Sonia Sharma, Progamme officer,NSS.The marathon was a resounding success with the participation of 190 students. Dr. Rakesh Tuli, an eminent scientist of the country, has been conferred upon 10th Professor SR Kashyap Oration Award in the Department of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Kamal Jit Singh, Chairperson, Department of Botany briefed about the award that has been instituted in the revered memory of an eminent Botanist Prof. Shiv Ram Kashyap, an alumnus of the Department, through a lecture corpus nucleated by his daughter, Ms. Kamini Kaushal, a famous actress, and supported by Department of Botany. The Family Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre, Department of Laws, Panjab University, in collaboration with Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh organised a successful Mediation Workshop on April 6, 2024.
