Panjab University, in collaboration with Elsevier, organized a workshop titled “How to Get Published in Scopus-Indexed Journals.” The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 500 registrations and 200 attendees including scholars, faculty members, and researchers from institutions like Punjabi University, Patiala, CSIR-IMTECH, Eternal University-Baru Sahib, Amity University, Punjab, DAV college Amritsar and Jalandhar, CRIID, and various departments of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

A seven-day international workshop on Recent trends in nutrigenomics and food technology was organized at the Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University Chandigarh (May 29 to June 4, 2024). The Ministry of Education sponsored the workshop under SPARC program with the collaboration of McGill University Canada and the Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh.

Panjab University has been granted approval by Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India to conduct M. Sc. program in Nuclear Medicine with Fortis hospital, Mohali, as clinical collaborative partner. Centre for Nuclear Medicine established in the year 2007, at Panjab University, was conducting the said program in collaboration with PGIMER, which discontinued as PGIMER started its own course. In a groundbreaking development in the realms of healthcare and forensic science, a pioneering patent has been granted for a novel peptide and its conjugate designed to detect Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) which is a protein produced by prostate gland in males. PSA is used for early diagnosis of prostate cancer in the healthcare system and semen detection in sexual assault cases. The novel peptide specific to PSA is used as a biorecognition element in order to fabricate the biosensor for the detection of PSA. An international delegation from MaKami College, Canada comprising Mr. Vladimir Pavkovic (Director Marketing), IrfanJänHashmi (Brand Ambassador at MaKami College), Advocate Manpreet Kaur, and Mr. Jagroop Kahlon visited Panjab University to explore possibilities of academic collaborations with Panjab University.  MaKami College has campuses in Calgary and Edmonton.
