A project report entitled “Barriers to access Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) among injecting Drug users in Chandigarh: A mixed method study” was released by the Honourable Prof. Renu Vig Vice Chancellor Panjab University, Chandigarh. The Project was sanctioned to Population Research Centre and Centre for Social Work Panjab University Chandigarh by Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society. The Research Team comprised of Dr. Sukhbir Singh, Prof. Kumool Abbi and Dr. Gaurav Gaur.

Region Innovation & Knowledge Cluster CRIKC Panjab University in collaboration with General Aeronautics Bengaluru launched an Advanced Drone Tech Centre in PU campus. This centre will involve engineers, scientists and students from PU and CRIKC institutes for Research, Development and application of Drone based technologies in fields of agriculture, disaster management and for material transportation & accessibility to difficult terrains.

June 6, 2023-To mark World Environment Day, a tree plantation drive was initiated at the Panjab University, Chandigarh under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig. On this occasion, saplings of shrubs, herbs, and flowering plants were planted around the CIL/SAIF and student centre to beautify the campus. During this drive, the University planted around 8000 saplings in Panjab University's main campus and south campus.

Panjab University has once again demonstrated its athletic prowess by clinching the title of overall champions at the third edition of the Khelo India University Games. The university secured a remarkable total of 69 medals, comprising 26 gold, 17 silver, and 26 bronze. The final day of the games witnessed an impressive performance by Yash Ghangas, the reigning National Games champion, who captivated the crowd at BBD University in Lucknow.
