Environmental Initiatives

Panjab University, Chandigarh today observed Car Free Day at the University Campus. On the occasion, Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Y.P. Verma Registrar, Panjab University Chandigarh, and other senior officials of the University used Cycle to reach their respective offices/departments/branches etc. Even, students and staff of the University also used free shuttle bus service to roam within the University. Faculty members/students were seen walking to reach their respective departments. June 6, 2023-To mark World Environment Day, a tree plantation drive was initiated at the Panjab University, Chandigarh under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig. On this occasion, saplings of shrubs, herbs, and flowering plants were planted around the CIL/SAIF and student centre to beautify the campus. During this drive, the University planted around 8000 saplings in Panjab University's main campus and south campus.
