Panjab University Alumnus, Neeraj Chopra, in a historic moment for Indian athletics, clinched the gold medal in the men's javelin throw event at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary on August 27, 2023. The 'golden boy of Indian athletics' etched his name in history by becoming the first-ever Indian athlete to secure a gold medal at this prestigious championship. A Coffee Table Book (CTB) prepared by Panjab University Alumni Association was released by Prof. Renu Vig, honourable Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. The books highlights the the rich history of PU, the activities during last 2 years and various achievements of the university. The committee who conceptualised and edited the CTB included Prof. Anupama Sharma, Dean Alumni Relations PU along with Prof Sonal Singhal, Prof. Kalpana Dhaiya, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur and Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, who were present during the release.
