
Daman Singh Unveils Memorial Plaque at Dr. Manmohan Singh Hall, PU | Delivers PU Colloquium on His Legacy
Noted author and daughter of the late Dr. Manmohan Singh, Ms Daman Singh, today unveiled a memorial plaque at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Hall, Arts Block 3 of Panjab University—now named in honour of the former Prime Minister. The ceremony was attended by PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, Shri Raghav Tankha, and several other distinguished dignitaries.
Later, Ms Daman Singh delivered an inspiring lecture titled “Dr. Manmohan Singh: The Quintessential Scholar” as part of the PU Colloquium series. She spoke about her father’s humble beginnings, his transformative academic journey at Panjab University, and the values that shaped his legacy.
The day concluded with an emotional visit to the Department of Economics—Dr Singh’s alma mater—where Ms Singh spent time in his former room, revisiting the books and memories.
