The Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig of Panjab University, Chandigarh has been conferred with the rank of “Honorary Colonel” and has been appointed as Colonel Commandant in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) by the Government of India.
The honor is granted to distinguished persons who could contribute significantly in the furtherance of goals and activities of NCC.
The Vice-Chancellor elevated the pride of Panjab University by successfully continuing the legacy of holding the prestigious rank of NCC. She is the first female Vice Chancellor of Panjab University to be conferred with the rank of “Honorary Colonel”. The piping ceremony was held at the Auditorium of Group Headquarters, Chandigarh.
