NSS, Panjab University celebrated Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 20, 2024, at the Govt Model High School, Khuda Jassu, Chandigarh under the guidance of Dr Parveen Goyal Programme Coordinator, NSS, PU, Chd. Khuda Jassu is one of the adopted villages by NSS, PU, Chd.

The girl students of class 6 and 7 of the age group 11 to 12 years were addressed on the theme ” Menstrual Hygiene for Young Girls ” by Dr.Sonia Sharma, PO, NSS, Panjab University. The lecture highlighted that the beginning of the menstrual cycle is an indication that a girl is healthy and has begun her journey towards puberty. She stressed hygiene care during the periods and proper disposal of sanitary Napkins.

The female students showed a lot of enthusiasm and were very happy to know about the facts associated with periods. Dr.Vandita Kakkar, PO, NSS, PU, Chd also addressed the girls and created an amazing aura by making the girls sing the song ” Periods hain toh healthy hain hum”. Dr Parveen Goyal programme coordinator of NSS PU felicitated the principal Mr Subhash, with a planter.
