The Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig of Panjab University, Chandigarh has been conferred with the rank of "Honorary Colonel" and has been appointed as Colonel Commandant in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) by the Government of India. The honor is granted to distinguished persons who could contribute significantly in the furtherance of goals and activities of NCC. The valedictory ceremony of the 30-hour Summer Skill Enhancement Course on ‘Artificial Intelligence Tools for Research’ held at the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE), PU. The course aimed to equip participants with knowledge and hands-on experience using AI tools for academic research and writing and concluded successfully. The Chief Guest, Prof. Harsh Nayyar, Director of the Research and Development Cell at Panjab University ,highlighted the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements and how acquiring relevant skill sets can differentiate between people with similar backgrounds and experience levels.

Panjab University Chandigarh inaugurated an 8-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Universal Human Values today. The program, running from 18th to 25th June 2024, is funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and co-funded by the Technology Enabling Centre, Panjab University.
